How did I develop Holistic Therapy & Body-Focused Therapy?

Holistic Therapy and Body-oriented Therapy started with me at the Classical Shiatsu School in The Hague with Alan Nash. This HBO training taught me to become much more sensitive in addition to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the 5 Elements teachings and the acupuncture points on the meridians. I learned to know my inner world and discovered to be able to stand and give space to what I discovered there. To acknowledge and recognize my inner child pieces, trauma aspects and other stored and unprocessed energies. All totally focused on the body. Soon I noticed that I worked differently than my Shiatsu colleagues and made many connections in the Psyche and underlying traumas. My Psychotherapeutic approach and creative fusion was further strengthened by my deepening at the Sacred Journey with the year program 'Soul Coach', where I learned many methods and modalities in guiding and supporting others for release of trauma and reconnection with your true self, with the heart.. Want to know more about me what else I studied?

In my approach to Holistic Therapy and Body-Oriented Therapy, we work together to understand the body as a whole. The body possesses immense wisdom and signals us where blockages are, which organs are involved, and helps us identify the underlying emotions and patterns that cause these blockages. These insights allow us to adapt methods to transform these patterns and support the body in releasing these blockages. Installing new healthy patterns will enable you to once again enjoy life to the fullest. By integrating Holistic Therapy and Body Focused Therapy, we offer a path to profound healing and well-being.

What is a Holistic Therapist and a Body-focused Therapist?

A Holistic Therapist approaches the human being as an integrated whole, where physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects are interconnected and treated together. For a body-oriented therapist, everything revolves around the body as a focal point within body-oriented psychotherapy. Holistic treatment is central to body-oriented therapy.

"Complaints" that arise in the body often come from the mind. Thoughts create unwanted emotions that often get stuck in the body un-expressed. For example: you go through life tense, you feel responsible for everything and take on too much and get it in the back, shoulders are stuck and you have another appointment with the physio scheduled. Most help toward healing is offered focusing on the body like a physical therapist or only on the mind like a psychologist. As a healing coach, I actually combine body and mind aspects.

What methods can be used to support you in your process of healing?

At Healingcoach we have a rich supply and creative fusion of different methodologies. With my extensive experience and training, I have the following to offer:

What is a holistic method of working?

As a Holistic Therapist, I will work with you to create a safe setting, a feld where you are allowed to be completely as you are. From there we sink deeper and let your body 'speak'. We discover:

  • the meaning hidden in the description of the client's symptoms.
  • the meaning of the information that comes through our touch.
  • the language we can use to integrate this information for a lasting improvement and constructive approach for the client.

I suspect you will run into the following:

  • Would you like to live your life from your feelings, from your heart and not from your head?
  • Would you like to live with more self-esteem, self-love and live from authenticity?
  • Do you long for better contact with your body, emotions and thoughts?
  • Do you want to discover and process the cause of your complaints?
  • Break your patterns and make other choices?
  • Discovering which beliefs you have and releasing them?
  • Do you need a more permanent release in your body and the free flow of energy?
  • Do you experience that unconscious blocks/beliefs slow you down in your development?
  • Would you like to stop hindering habits?
  • Would you like everything to flow nicely again and you can experience life to the fullest again?
  • Would you like a clear implementation for integrating a sustainable healthier life?
  • Are you stuck in life and no longer know what course to take?
  • Would you like insights for healing and a new perspective on your own life?

The sessions take about 1.5 hours.

Advice is to take it easy after the treatment, no busy or stressful appointments or efforts.

One of my great values is health and this is what I do in my spare time. I like to immerse myself in the philosophy and background of traditional Chinese medicine, Shamanism, Buddhism, and keep up to date with the latest scientific evidence towards complementary therapies and alternative medicine. I am also constantly concerned with food, living with the seasons as much as possible and adjusting my diet according to Chinese medicine.

Yes, Holistic Therapy & Body Centered Therapy can be very well combined with other therapeutic approaches such as hypnotherapy, holistic therapy, or art therapy.
